Chicken is a most liked and famous food item of today era. Chicken is used in varieties of dishes in all over the World. Today I will share with you the most famous recipe of chicken curry in a very simple way. This curry contains the tasty soup which is very healthy itself. This chicken curry is prepared for every formal family meal in my area. Many names are famous for this dish like South Indian chicken curry, Pakistani curry, chicken qourma etc. I prepared chicken curry including regular ingredients. You can make variation according to your casual ingredients.
Chicken meat 1 kg
Oil to cook 3/4 cup
Onion 2 medium size chopped
Tomato 2 medium size chopped
Ginger garlic paste 1 tablespoon
1 jug or bottle of water
Salt 1/2 tablespoon
Red pepper powder half tablespoon
Turmeric powder 1/3 spoon
All spice powder 1/3 tablespoon
Fenugreek dried leaves 1/2 tablespoon or
Any fragrant herb you like for curry
Green chili 1 to 2
Direction to chicken curry step by step
Cut the chicken pieces if needed
Wash the chicken and drain the water.
Cut onions, tomatoes and make the paste of ginger and garlic.
Now ingredients are ready let’s cook.
Cooking of Chicken curry in a simple way:
Take a sauce pan or instant pot.
Add oil and heat it.
Add chopped onions and fry until they turn into light brown. Now be careful and lower the heat. Keep the cup of water with you if needed then sprinkle water in pan.
Add red chili powder and turmeric powder and mix well. Add salt, ginger and garlic paste. Fry it. When it turns into light brown color add tomatoes. If needed sprinkle water.
Add cup of water to tender the ingredients and cover the lid. It will take around 10 minutes.
Now check if water is dried then add chicken and fry. Here add herbs for flavor. I add all spice mixed powder and dried fenugreek. Adding of spices at this step give perfect aroma to any meat curry. Sauté the chicken while sprinkling of water for 5 to 8 minutes.
Now add water as your requirement. If you want a thick curry add 3 cups of water and close the lid. And cook on medium to low heat for 10 to 15 minutes.
If you like more curry like a soup add 5 to 6 cups of water and cook it for 15 minutes with close lid.
Now your simple chicken curry is ready. You may check the curry for taste. Take out in a bowl. Garnish it and serve to family.
